Prototype 0.3

Pacing the Frontier

Race three rival labs to the finish. Hold back pace to invest in sight, height and max speed. The seed sets the track. You only see what your sight reaches or what is public, and a fall can end the run for everyone. The last gap is the singularity.

Pacing the Frontier

The start is slow. A gate near the start is too tall to jump from a standstill, so lower Pace or hold Back to stand still and build height. Pace is your cruise; the rest goes to sight, height and max speed, split by the point in the triangle (drag it, or keys 1 to 7). Hold the right arrow or D to floor it, the left arrow, A or B to back up, Up and Down set Pace, Space jumps. The seed sets the track and you see only what your sight reaches or what is public. A barrier bounces you back and caps your speed. Three strikes: the first crash into each different barrier or tower is a strike, hitting the same one again is free, and the third strike gets your lab dissolved. Only a fall into a gap can roll for extinction. A near miss of a gap is a scrape, a bigger miss is a fall, and a roll can end the run for everyone. The last gap is the singularity: the widest, with the worst odds, and the first lab across gets the full ceiling. Past it your top speed is multiplied and your controls lag, so set your balance before you cross. First over the finish wins.

Tuning knobs

Strikes, odds, share, refill, step, invest, air time, spillover, bounce, cap distance, drop, scrape cap, reveal, singularity odds and control lag apply live. Barrier and gap scales and the singularity speed shape the track, so they apply on the next run (air time also changes the widest gap a track allows).
